As we all know, this weekend is Halloween. Firstly, have a fun non-holiday. Secondly:
So, Halloween is an expensive time for us all. What with it being in the middle of the Christmas gift buying season and (if you’re on the American side of the Atlantic) there’s Thanks Giving to contend with, AND the Super Bowl, too.
Halloween is expensive for me, because one of my closest friends got married a few years ago on Halloween. Considering that both him and his partner are of the Goth/Rocker/Horror Movie Fan persuasion, it was only a matter of time before they got together on Halloween; and a few years ago they did. We’re on their 3rd year now. Magical.
I always leave it until the last minute to get them anything. I know that I shouldn’t. For some reason, this time every year I’ve been unemployed, which isn’t that bad. Because they don’t expect to get anything too tremendous from me. But I really suck at buying gifts for anniversaries. I know that this year, they should be expecting something leather (as it’s the 3rd year) but my mind is completely blank.
On top of that, I’ve been invited to a Halloween party by a friend from University. I haven’t had a chance to hang out with this friend for 2 years, and it’d be cool to hang out. Again, I’ve left it to the last minute to track down a costume. But I figure that if I can source a cane by tomorrow evening, I should be able to show up as House. I may even enhance the look by having some TicTacs with me, popping them every so often. I could go, without a cane, but “Generic Limping man” doesn’t have the same click as House.
Hmm. Where can I get a cane from in less than 24 hours?
